Want to start growing cannabis and don't know where to begin? Are you preparing a school project to explain seed germination in the plant world?
In this guide we explain the basics so you can bring your cannabis farm to life and start seeing those much loved green leaves!
What do we need?
- Cannabis Seeds
- Paper towels
- One small plastic container
- Place to plant the seed (garden or pot)
- Nutrient-rich soil
Phase 1: Preparing the seeds:
- Container: Cover the interior of the container with 4 layers of paper towel.
- Humidity: Apply water until 75% humidity (aprox).
- Seeds: Place the cannabis seeds over the paper and cover with one last paper towel layer which will be just as humid.
- Resting: Close the container, leaving room for airflow and we store it where there is no direct light and without big temperature changes.

Phase 2: Preparing the ground:
- Soil: Fill the pot or area (in the garden) where we’ll plant the seeds with our Nutrient-rich soil.
- Home for the seed: Make a 5cm deep by 2cm wide hole for each seed we are planting.
- Best location: Place the pot in the desired spot, either indoor or on the sport where the plant can receive direct sunlight.

Phase 3: Sowing seeds:
- Check-ups: Check each 12 hours to make sure paper towels are still humid.
- Germination period: Between day 3 and 5, seeds will open and the first sprout will come out. Be aware that different weed brands take different time to crack open.
- Sprouted: Once the sprout is over 2cm long, you can transfer it to the hole you prepared in the garden or pot.

Phase 4: First days on the ground:
- Moisturization: Once the seeds are on the ground, give them enough water everyday to keep the ground humid but not soaked wet.
- First leaves: By the end of the first week, the first two leaves will have appear announcing the vegetative state.
- Time and calm: Now it's time to give them time and peace so we can start seeing more and more results. Do not move the plants or seedlings, unless extremely necessary. If you plan to transplant them into a bigger spot, take it easy, save the plant as much stress as possible.
